This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Act as the main administrator for Workday Financials and serve as the primary support contact for the Finance team, efficiently managing configuration issues, user requests, and system inquiries with a high level of responsiveness and quality.
• Identify and resolve configuration challenges within Workday Financials across various modules, including Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Procurement, and Banking & Settlement.
• Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, translating them into functional design specifications and Workday configuration solutions.
• Support and implement enhancements, new feature rollouts, and process improvements in Workday Financials, managing the process from requirements gathering to testing and change management.
• Engage in Workday's semi-annual release cycles by reviewing release notes, evaluating functional impacts, coordinating user acceptance testing, and overseeing deployment.
• Ensure accurate and updated system documentation is maintained, including configuration guides, business process flows, and training materials.
• Work alongside the broader Enterprise Systems team on cross-functional initiatives that involve Workday HCM, Adaptive Planning, integrations, and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership to support strategic initiatives such as process automation, reporting enhancements, and scalability projects aligned with company growth.
• Serve as a liaison between Finance and IT, guaranteeing that system changes are executed with the necessary controls, rigorous testing, and minimal disruption to financial operations.
• Oversee support tickets and project tasks through a structured intake and prioritization process, proactively communicating status and expectations to stakeholders.
• 3-5+ years of practical experience in Workday Financials configuration and support, specifically in a business analyst or functional analyst role.
• Extensive knowledge of one or more Workday Financial Management modules, with the capability to configure business processes, validation rules, condition rules, and security independently.
• Proven ability to manage daily Finance operations while also contributing to project-based work and strategic initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities — adept at handling competing priorities, managing expectations between Finance and IT, and communicating effectively at all levels.
• Experience in conducting business requirements gathering, gap analysis, and drafting functional design documents.
• Comprehensive understanding of core finance and accounting principles (GAAP, month-end close, AP/AR workflows, expense management) and their application to Workday configuration.
• Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple ongoing requests and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative problem-solving approach, demonstrated by a history of building trusted relationships with Finance business partners.
• You might also have:
• Workday Pro certification in Financial Management.
• Experience supporting Workday in a publicly traded company with SOX compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning and its connection to the Financials module.
• Exposure to Workday Prism Analytics or Workday Reporting (composite reports, matrix reports, calculated fields).
• Experience with applications like Coupa, Workiva, Concur, or other Finance-related tools that integrate with Workday.
• Previous experience aiding a Finance team through a Workday optimization or module expansion project.
