Windows Systems Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, set up, and deploy Windows Server environments according to project specifications

• Execute server installations, hardening procedures, patching, and validation after builds

• Assist in the implementation and migration of Windows Server projects

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server Failover Clusters

• Aid in the design and implementation of high-availability SQL environments

• Conduct cluster validation, testing, and troubleshooting

• Configure and oversee Active Directory Domain Services

• Execute domain joins, create Organizational Units (OUs), implement Group Policies (GPOs), and manage user/group access

• Support domain migrations, establish trust relationships, and conduct Active Directory health assessments

• Troubleshoot issues related to authentication, replication, and domains

• Engage in infrastructure implementation and customer onboarding initiatives

• Develop comprehensive installation and deployment documentation

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and support teams

• Ensure system readiness prior to production handover

• Provide Level 2 support for Windows infrastructure challenges

• Conduct root cause analysis and address implementation obstacles

• Escalate intricate issues to senior engineers

• Maintain implementation documentation and contribute to knowledge base articles

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in the implementation and support of Windows infrastructure

• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server versions 2016, 2019, and 2022

• Practical experience in building and configuring Windows Servers

• Familiarity with the construction and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server clusters

• Strong comprehension of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)

• Understanding of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy (GPO), and Windows Security

• Experience with Windows patching and server hardening techniques

• Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing

• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization platforms

• Awareness of ITIL processes and change management methodologies

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical capabilities

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple implementation tasks

• Customer-oriented mindset with a sense of ownership and accountability

• Capacity to thrive in fast-paced, project-driven environments

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred

• Experience in customer-facing implementation or professional services roles
