Wind Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and resolve significant corrective operational issues on utility-scale wind turbines as outlined in the project specifications.

• Execute heavy rigging operations to enable the replacement of components such as main bearings, drive shafts, generators, and rotor swaps.

• Capable of coordinating the use of a conventional crane.

• Carry out all major component exchanges according to established procedures.

• Conduct repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical component replacements to rectify malfunctions.

• Effectively use and maintain all required safety equipment.

• Embody the company's culture of safety, quality, and integrity on a daily basis.

• Adhere to all safety regulations in line with company, customer, and government guidelines.

• Demonstrate positive and courteous behavior towards customers, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.

• Complete and submit necessary service reports, timecards, expense reports, and other required documentation promptly for the onsite team.

• Show willingness to consistently embrace personal and professional growth.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of two years of experience in performing major corrective work.

• Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

• Proficient in reading and understanding schematics from various wind turbine manufacturers.

• Ability to regularly climb heights of 300 feet or more.

• Completion of all mandatory training within the specified timeframe and to a satisfactory level.

• Capability to lead and engage in on-the-job training with on-site personnel.

• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

• Willingness to regularly work over 50 hours a week.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Ability to travel for extended periods of up to 6 weeks.

• Capacity to lift weights exceeding 50 pounds regularly.

• Capability to work in adverse weather conditions.

• **Education:**

• High School Diploma required.

• Preferred qualifications include OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, and Tower Rescue certificates.

• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
