Wind Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Ensure optimal performance and output at the wind site.

• Engage in wind turbine operations, safety protocols, quality control, and warranty repairs.

• Implement contractual obligations and daily site activities in collaboration with site and hub leadership.

• Conduct maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems utilized in GE wind turbine generators.

• Repair, maintain, or replace components to resolve malfunctions.

• Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable and variable-speed turbines.

• Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by the manager while adhering to safety regulations.

• Execute diagnostic electrical assessments.

• Record work details using computer-based service reporting systems.

• Coordinate with GE’s remote operations center when required.

• Collaborate and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to fulfill contract requirements and deadlines.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• A minimum of 1 year experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completion of a Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience.

• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• A valid driver’s license, to be maintained throughout employment.

• Capability to handle repetitive loads of 50 lbs. and ascend towers up to 300 feet daily.

• Must adhere to manufacturer weight limits, not exceeding 300 lbs. including necessary gear.

• Willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.

• Ability to prioritize tasks in accordance with contract obligations.

• Initiative and capability to work independently without direct supervision.

• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on-call based on site requirements.

• Occasional overnight shifts may be necessary.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
