This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct routine inspections of GE wind turbines to detect any mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic problems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Execute preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on turbine components to ensure ongoing operational efficiency.
• Component Replacement: Replace defective parts, carry out upgrades, and guarantee that all components are functioning optimally.
• Follow Protocols: Comply with GE maintenance documentation and checklists during maintenance tasks.
• Safety & Compliance: Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Environmental & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and company standards at all job sites.
• Workplace Safety: Report any safety issues and engage in safety training and tailboard meetings.
• Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting: Stay Current: Remain informed about the latest GE wind turbine technologies and industry best practices.
• Collaborative Troubleshooting: Work alongside the Maintenance Lead and GE technical support to efficiently resolve complex turbine issues.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintenance Logs: Keep accurate and comprehensive maintenance records, including logs for LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), PDRs, tailboards, and maintenance checklists.
• Effective Communication: Communicate and report effectively with site management and the Maintenance Lead Technician to ensure seamless operations.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in wind energy or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Required: At least 1-2 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance, particularly with GE turbines.
• Preferred: Background in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting within wind energy systems.
• Skills: Troubleshooting Expertise: Proficient mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Tool Proficiency: Experience with hydraulic, battery, and hand torque tools.
• GE Wind Turbine Knowledge: Familiarity with GE wind turbine technologies, maintenance practices, and diagnostic instruments.
• Communication: Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with the team and reporting to management.
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational capabilities for maintaining accurate maintenance records and logs.
• Certifications: Required: GWO certifications (BST, BTTI, BTTH, BTTE, BTTB, ART, SART).
• Preferred: GE Wind Turbine certifications, including Preventive Maintenance and Tech Essentials.
• Physical & Work Requirements: Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding settings. Comfort working at heights (up to 300 feet) and in confined spaces. Ability to endure extreme weather conditions and work in remote locations.
