Data Protection Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Deliver engineering support for Data Discovery, DLP, and Data Classification systems, which encompasses the implementation of detection rules, minimizing false positive detections, and the deployment and maintenance of tools.

• Evaluate Data Discovery, DLP, and Data Classification events, developing metrics to highlight areas needing attention.

• Collaborate with business units to collect business requirements, such as identifying unique sensitive data patterns, creating a whitelist of authorized entities, and establishing controls that minimize business impact.

• Create reports and automations to tackle significant business concerns related to data protection.

• Aid in handling Data Protection control audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree.

• At least 3-4 years of experience in Data Security and/or Data Governance.

• Experience with Varonis SaaS engineering and analysis is essential.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Netskope, or other DLP engineering and analysis.

• Experience in Microsoft Purview Information Protection engineering and analysis.

• Knowledge of Keyword, Regex, Exact Data Matching (EDM) methodologies for policy development.

• Experience with Power BI/Tableau is advantageous.

• Background in Business Relationship Management.

• General understanding of NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS standards.
