This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Fulfill contractual commitments and customer needs in collaboration with site and hub leadership.
• Maintain, repair, or replace components on GE wind turbine generator electrical and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.
• Assist in all aspects of site operations as instructed by management with minimal oversight.
• Adhere to all safety protocols.
• Conduct diagnostic electrical evaluations.
• Record work using computer-based service documentation procedures.
• Coordinate with GE’s remote operations center as required.
• Collaborate and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to fulfill contract obligations and timelines.
• Travel locally within the hub and occasionally stay overnight as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED, along with 1+ year(s) experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completion of a Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience.
• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license, which must be maintained.
• Capability to lift and carry repetitive weights of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to ascend towers up to 300 feet on a daily basis.
• Must adhere to manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs., including necessary gear.
• Willingness and ability to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.
• Capacity to prioritize tasks based on contract obligations.
• Initiative and ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on-call as per site requirements.
• Willingness to work occasional overnight shifts as needed by the hub.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screening, as applicable.
• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics discipline.
• Preferred: Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic fields.
• Experience with wind turbines.
• Background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems.
• Experience utilizing hydraulic power tools.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and knowledge of crane and rigging standards.
• Geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in select regions.
