This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Travel within the wind hub on a local basis.
• Ensure the wind site operates at peak performance and efficiency.
• Conduct daily operations for turbines, including safety checks, quality control, and warranty repairs.
• Collaborate with site and hub leadership to fulfill contractual obligations and meet customer expectations.
• Work on the electrical and mechanical systems utilized in GE wind turbine generators.
• Execute maintenance, repairs, and part replacements to address malfunctions.
• Diagnose intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.
• Assist in all operational areas of the site as directed by the manager with minimal oversight.
• Adhere to all safety protocols.
• Conduct diagnostic electrical assessments.
• Maintain documentation of work utilizing computer-based service reporting systems.
• Communicate and coordinate with GE’s remote operations center as required.
• Collaborate with the Site Lead and Manager to adhere to contract stipulations and deadlines.
• High School Diploma or GED, along with over 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completion of a Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience.
• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Must possess and retain a valid driver's license.
• Capability to handle repetitive weights of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to ascend towers of up to 300 feet on a daily basis.
• Must adhere to specified manufacturer weight limits, not to exceed 300 lbs., including necessary gear.
• Willingness and ability to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry settings.
• Skill in prioritizing tasks based on contractual commitments.
• Initiative and ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Flexibility to accommodate rotating shifts and on-call duty as needed by the site.
• Occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited institution (preferred).
• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field (preferred).
• Experience with wind turbines.
• Background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with hydraulic power tools.
• Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and a working knowledge of crane and rigging standards.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
