This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Fulfill contractual obligations based on customer specifications and daily activities at the site and hub.
• Operate, maintain, repair, and replace electrical and mechanical systems utilized in GE wind turbine generators.
• Diagnose intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable pitch and variable speed turbines.
• Assist in all aspects of site operations as instructed by the manager with minimal oversight while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct diagnostic electrical analyses.
• Record all activities utilizing computer-based service reporting systems.
• Collaborate with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when required.
• Partner with the Site Lead and Manager to fulfill contract specifications and deadlines.
• Travel locally within the hub area.
• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, completion of a Wind Certificate Program, or an Associate’s Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience.
• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license that must be consistently maintained.
• Capability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs. and ascend towers up to 300 feet on a daily basis.
• Must adhere to manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs., including necessary gear.
• Willingness and ability to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.
• Skill in prioritizing tasks in accordance with contract stipulations.
• Initiative and capability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Flexibility to adapt to rotating shifts and on-call schedules.
• Occasional overnight work may be necessary.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field is preferred.
• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or an Electrical/Electronic field is preferred.
• Experience with wind turbines.
• Background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using hydraulic power tools.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and understanding of crane and rigging protocols.
