Wi-Fi Network Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create Wi-Fi networks that fulfill performance, coverage, and scalability standards for ISP environments.

• Develop comprehensive network designs that integrate Wi-Fi, fiber, Ethernet, and necessary supporting infrastructure.

• Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, construction, operations, and project teams) to ensure that designs align with overall project objectives and contractual commitments.

• Engage in full project lifecycle design discussions instead of concentrating on a single network component.

• Assess project requirements and convert them into practical, build-ready network designs.

• Distribute workload evenly across Wi-Fi and infrastructure design to help avoid backlogs and dependencies on single-threaded tasks.

• Offer technical insights and guidance during the implementation phase as needed.

• Clearly and consistently document designs, assumptions, and standards.

• Keep updated on Wi-Fi technologies, trends in network infrastructure, and industry best practices.

• Perform additional tasks as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in an ISP or service-provider setting.

• CWNA certification is recommended, but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with standard Wi-Fi design and survey tools.

• Proven experience in designing large-scale networks or managing multiple concurrent projects.

• Willingness to work outside regular business hours and on weekends when necessary.

• Minimum of three years of experience in a related field.

• Strong grasp of network infrastructure fundamentals, including fiber networks, Ethernet, and general network architecture principles.

• Demonstrated expertise in Wi-Fi design, planning, and performance considerations.

• Ability to design networks in a holistic manner rather than within isolated technical silos.

• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

• Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
