This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee mechanical commissioning activities for data center projects throughout Canada
• Strategize, develop, and implement full lifecycle commissioning (L0-L6) for various sizes of data center projects, including small, medium, and large-scale
• Lead the creation, review, and endorsement of mechanical commissioning test scripts and procedures (L1-L5)
• Implement ASHRAE commissioning guidelines and requirements
• Conduct reviews of design drawings, specifications, and submittals
• Generate and confirm Sequences of Operation (SOO) and Test and Balance (TAB) plans
• Perform hands-on commissioning of chillers, cooling towers, CDUs, CRAHs, CRACs, RTUs, AHUs, and high-density liquid cooling systems
• Carry out pre-functional inspections, functional testing, and integrated systems testing
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment complications while coordinating solutions with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders
• Act as the primary point of contact for mechanical infrastructure, controls, and monitoring systems during commissioning
• Draft SOPs and MOPs and compile project documentation into site-specific Systems Manuals
• Assist with proposal development, team composition planning, budget management, and client commissioning reports
• Utilize QA/QC software such as BIM360, CxAlloy, and Facility Grid
• Perform network diagnostic testing, heat load testing, scenario testing, and integrated systems validation
• At least 5 years of proven experience in data center and/or mission critical commissioning
• Preferably, experience with greenfield projects with a capacity of 25MW or more
• Knowledge and expertise in third-party commissioning of controls/automation systems, chillers, cooling towers, CDUs, CRAHs, CRACs, RTUs, and AHUs
• Strong skills in project management and coordination
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous commissioning tasks while ensuring effective communication with stakeholders
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• High proficiency in MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 30% to client locations across Canada, typically not exceeding two-week periods
• Preferred: experience in commissioning high-density liquid cooling systems for data centers
• Preferred: accredited engineering or technology degree; equivalent industry experience is acceptable
• Preferred: Commissioning Professional certification from a recognized industry body
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.Eng/PE) designation
• Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
