This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Conduct analysis of mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) for both static structural and dynamic loads with minimal supervision.
• Employ solid and shell meshing analysis techniques.
• Gather, develop, and evaluate design inputs.
• Produce hand calculations to support design choices.
• Collaborate with a senior engineer on larger projects when necessary.
• Lead or engage in design reviews.
• Estimate the scope and time required for proposed analysis projects.
• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and monitoring.
• Communicate with vendors, team members, and project managers to facilitate project progress.
• Assist in preparing quotes and estimating future design and analysis projects.
• Identify design and product risks along with potential mitigations.
• Comply with ALTEN Technology’s Quality System processes.
• Compile and deliver engineering design and analysis documentation that meets regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with Mechanical Design, Electrical, Systems, and Software Engineering teams.
• Engage in projects across the defense, space, aviation, robotics, and medical sectors.
• Provide customer support on-site for short periods, typically remotely.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from an accredited institution plus 4+ years of experience in engineering analysis and product development, or a Master’s Degree (M.S.) in engineering from an accredited institution plus 2+ years of experience in engineering analysis and product development.
• Proficient knowledge of FEA, particularly using Femap with NX Nastran for structural and dynamic analysis of mechanical components.
• Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Experience with drone equipment or the analysis of composite structures.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for presenting and reporting technical findings.
• Proven ability to tackle complex problems using engineering principles independently.
• Capacity to interpret instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
• Ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects.
