This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
β’ Become a part of Atrium Health as a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician on the Virtual Weight Management team, which is a division of Advocate Health.
β’ The Atrium Health Virtual Weight Management Program offers a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to obesity and metabolic health care via a fully virtual platform.
β’ Conduct thorough medical histories, virtual assessments, and clinical evaluations addressing obesity and metabolic issues.
β’ Create personalized weight-management treatment plans that utilize evidence-based methodologies.
β’ Provide continuous virtual longitudinal care, routine follow-ups, and management of chronic conditions related to obesity and metabolic health.
β’ Order and interpret necessary diagnostic tests for obesity care and metabolic monitoring.
β’ Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate fashion.
β’ Adhere to Atrium Health's virtual-care guidelines, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.
β’ Act as a patient advocate and educator, offering supportive counseling and motivation.
β’ Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to a diverse adult population.
β’ Engage actively in quality improvement initiatives and the development of outcomes-driven programs.
β’ Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary care team that includes dietitians, behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, and care coordinators.
β’ MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
β’ Completion of an accredited residency program.
β’ Board Certification in Obesity/Weight Management is mandatory.
β’ Maintenance of Certification is required in accordance with applicable board standards.
β’ Previous experience in virtual care is preferred; experience with obesity pharmacotherapy is highly favored.
β’ Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to deliver age-appropriate care for adults aged 18 and older.
β’ Willingness to serve as a collaborating physician for up to 7 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) is required.
β’ Although the role is remote, the Physician must reside in one of the following states: NC, SC, GA, or AL.
