Web Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Gather requirements through interviews, workshops, joint application design (JAD) sessions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.

• Develop functional requirement documents and specifications.

• Design information architectures, wireframes, page mockups, and prototypes.

• Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that ensure consistency across all browsers and platforms.

• Uphold and implement design standards and branding guidelines.

• Advocate for and maintain usability standards and best practices.

• Update and modernize legacy web applications.

• Actively communicate and collaborate with clients to assess information needs and functional requirements.

• Work with developers and subject matter experts to define the vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in information systems, software engineering, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience is required.

• At least five years of proven success as a web designer.

• A minimum of two years of experience with responsive and adaptive design.

• Familiarity with the Human-Centered Design Process.

• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.

• Experience with screen mockup tools and conducting prototype evaluations with end users and clients.

• A self-starter with leadership abilities to lead or facilitate requirement-gathering sessions.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a diverse audience, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

• Strong multi-tasking abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities and project scope changes.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel.
