This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Travel to client locations to conduct operational assessments of water and wastewater treatment facilities (WTP/WWTP), lift stations, and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor and assess the performance of treatment systems, including pumps, motors, meters, gauges, and process control systems.
• Collect, test, and analyze water and wastewater samples; interpret results to evaluate treatment performance and compliance.
• Review and enhance treatment processes, including chemical feed systems and dosing, to boost efficiency and reliability.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on treatment systems, distribution systems, and equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical components, including pumps, blowers, valves, and control systems.
• Monitor system conditions, identify operational challenges, and respond to alarms, equipment failures, and emergency situations.
• Clean, maintain, and service tanks, wet wells, booster stations, and other facilities.
• Document and maintain precise operational data, maintenance logs, and inspection reports using both computerized and manual systems.
• Prepare clear written reports and communicate findings, recommendations, and corrective measures to supervisors and project managers.
• Assist with system startups, process adjustments, inspections, and routine operations.
• Coordinate materials, spare parts, and equipment required for maintenance and operational tasks.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment in accordance with company policies.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental regulations, permits, and safety standards (EPA, OSHA, and state requirements).
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to identify operational enhancements and adopt best practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Prior experience in water or wastewater treatment plant operations, system maintenance, or related environmental services is preferred.
• Pennsylvania Water/Wastewater Operator License (or the ability to obtain one within a year).
• Working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including chemical feed systems, sampling, and process control.
• Experience in performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, motors, blowers, valves, and control systems.
• Strong understanding of plant operations, distribution systems, and lift stations.
• Ability to monitor system performance, interpret data, and identify operational issues in real time.
• Proficiency in collecting and analyzing water and wastewater samples, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements, including EPA, OSHA, and state environmental standards.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), SCADA systems, or similar operational software is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the capability to perform general repairs and maintenance activities.
• Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively with team members and clients.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear written reports.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reside near Somerset, PA, or be willing to relocate to the Somerset, PA area.
