Water/Wastewater Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conduct independent assessments of community water and wastewater infrastructure requirements and propose practical, cost-efficient solutions.

• Create clear and organized planning documents and technical reports, including Preliminary Engineering Reports (PERs).

• Develop both preliminary and detailed project designs that municipalities can utilize to obtain infrastructure funding.

• Facilitate meetings with community stakeholders to collect information, present recommendations, and encourage project support and engagement.

• Based on your experience and expertise, contribute to additional project areas, such as assessing and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies, analyzing the design, cost, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects, or assisting with other relevant technical initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, or a commitment to obtain a PE license within 12 months of being hired.

• Over 5 years of pertinent experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design, with exposure to a variety of treatment systems; familiarity with funding, financing, and governance frameworks for Capital Improvement Programs is advantageous.

• A willingness and ability to travel as necessary to support community projects.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
