VRI/OPI Interpreter, Haitian Creole

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guyana.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Understand the specific vocabulary related to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering the content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpreting sessions.

• Facilitate communication between clients with Limited English Proficiency and service providers by providing precise and thorough interpretation of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide updates to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English as the source language and a native speaker of the target language "Haitian Creole."

• Minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare field is a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
