VRI/OPI Interpreter – Dari/Pashto

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Turkey.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you are interpreting for (particularly healthcare and medical) - training will be provided.

• Accurately convey all messages in their entirety, without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and comprehensive interpretations of messages.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Demonstrate a willingness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Dari/Pashto'.

• A minimum of 1 year of over-the-telephone interpretation experience in a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• Basic understanding of medical terminology is a plus, but not essential.

• Awareness of legal terminology is beneficial.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
