VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Timor-Leste.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Have a thorough understanding of the specific terminology relevant to the industry, particularly healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and complete interpretations.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report regularly to your team leader.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Tetum."

• A minimum of 1+ years of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, but not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not essential.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
