VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ethiopia.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Have a solid understanding of the specific vocabulary related to the healthcare and medical industries.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate communication between clients with Limited English Proficiency and the service provider by ensuring accurate and complete interpretation of messages.

• Uphold professional standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Tigrinya."

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience at a well-regarded interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare industry are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
