VRI/OPI Interpretation Vacancy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions are made.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Apply established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Demonstrate eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Karen."

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a recognized interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare industry, such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc., is an advantage.

• A high school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
