VRI/OPI Interpretation, Haitian Creole – French

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during a call.

• Have a strong understanding of the specific vocabulary related to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Ensure that all messages are conveyed accurately and completely, without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service during the interpretation process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Implement standards of practice consistently.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report regularly to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Haitian Creole'.

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare field are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
