This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Build, scale, and oversee a high-performing, geographically distributed team of government affairs professionals.
• Develop and manage the yearly State Government Affairs budget, which includes supervising external firms and lobbyists, as well as strategically allocating resources to maximize impact and efficiency across all jurisdictions while supporting political contributions.
• Define the company's multi-year legislative strategy. Anticipate changing regulatory trends, influence policy outcomes before they solidify, and serve as a key advisor to the C-suite regarding the intersection of political risk, consumer choice, and business strategy.
• Ensure that state legislators, regulators, governors, and attorneys general in all jurisdictions recognize and advocate for our customers and business interests.
• Foster strategic partnerships with industry leaders, trade associations, and coalition partners to shape the agenda for the gaming and entertainment sector, establishing PrizePicks as the benchmark for responsible policy advocacy.
• Draft and disseminate regular team updates on progress towards legislative and regulatory objectives, delivering concise and impactful summaries for internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Collaborate closely with legal, communications, product, and marketing teams to effectively communicate the PrizePicks narrative and support our user community.
• 12+ years of experience in senior policy, government, and/or public affairs positions.
• A proven history of managing extensive, multi-jurisdictional government affairs operations within the tech, gaming, or highly regulated consumer sectors.
• Experience in leading teams and developing strategic direction.
• Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and external stakeholders, translating complex policy impacts into actionable strategic shifts.
• The ability to simplify intricate competitive and policy dynamics into concise, high-impact, politically sensitive messaging for both internal and external audiences.
• A talent for quickly establishing connections and nurturing relationships, both within and outside the organization.
• Proven ability to navigate uncertainty and high-stakes political contexts, making decisive, well-reasoned decisions that safeguard the business while driving its progress.
• A belief that there is always a solution and the determination to adapt until the right answer is found.
