This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee Release Management, Quality Assurance (QA), and DevOps, ensuring delivery quality, release discipline, and platform reliability.

• Maintain a dotted-line relationship with manual QA engineers to establish organization-wide quality standards and processes.

• Provide hands-on technical guidance in solution design, architectural choices, incident response, and troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with the VP of Engineering on AI coding implementation, architectural standards, and release coordination.

• Design and execute an engineering quality framework that encompasses testing and release readiness.

• Manage a multi-platform automation framework for Angular, Swift, and Kotlin.

• Define and uphold quality gates along with go/no-go release criteria.

• Develop and mentor the QA team towards adopting automation-first quality engineering practices.

• Establish test data management, environment parity, and CI/CD quality integration.

• Create quality dashboards for engineering teams and leadership.

• Implement structured release gate processes and formal readiness evaluations.

• Collaborate with Technical Support to align production issues with engineering prioritization.

• Conduct post-release retrospectives and advocate for systemic process improvements.

• Uphold scope freeze discipline and ensure QA involvement in sprint planning and story grooming activities.

• Direct the DevOps strategy for CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, and platform reliability.

• Promote observability and oversee Site Reliability Engineering practices.

• Guarantee that infrastructure and deployment practices comply with security, compliance, and uptime standards.

• Advocate for the adoption of AI-assisted coding and testing across engineering teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of engineering experience.

• Minimum of 4 years in engineering leadership, managing QA, DevOps, or platform reliability teams.

• Extensive background in quality engineering with experience in building or rebuilding automation frameworks.

• Proven experience in migrating automation frameworks within web and native mobile environments, including iOS and Android.

• Track record of transitioning manual-heavy QA processes to automation-first practices in fintech, banking, or regulated environments.

• Experience in implementing release gates and enforcing go/no-go decisions.

• Hands-on experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Maestro, or similar.

• Familiarity with Angular, Swift, and Kotlin environments is highly advantageous.

• Strong background in DevOps and platform reliability, including CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and observability.

• AWS experience is preferred.

• Proven success in driving AI coding and testing tool adoption across engineering teams.

• Technical expertise in solution design, architecture, production incident response, and root-cause analysis.

• Cross-functional experience with technical support, release management, and product development.

• Exceptional communication skills and organizational influence.

• Experience in fintech, core banking, or digital banking platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with credit union or community bank environments is a plus.

• Experience with SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, or similar compliance frameworks is a plus.

• Experience managing the transition from manual QA to quality engineering is a plus.

• Experience in building or managing a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function is a plus.

• Must work remotely from the country of employment.

• Ability to work standard business hours in alignment with Eastern Time.
