VP of Product Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer EVP of Operations, the VP of Product Management oversees the strategic direction of the company’s product initiatives, manages the product roadmap, and serves as the primary contact for all aspects of Aptys’ product and service offerings.

• Tasked with generating and developing product concepts, interviewing customers, analyzing competitors, researching market trends, and collaborating with UX, engineering, and architecture teams to formulate development plans, prototypes, and prioritizing, defining, and executing product strategies alongside leadership.

• Must possess a comprehensive understanding of business requirements related to fulfilling Aptys' technological needs, addressing all development backlogs including contracts, enhancement requests, defect backlogs, and paid development.

• Oversees the activities of Product Managers to ensure effective delivery within their respective portfolios.

• This position demands a strategic thinker who is analytical, detail-oriented, results-focused, with exceptional research and problem-solving capabilities.

• Acts as a leading subject matter expert in sales initiatives.

• Collaborates effectively with various departments within Aptys, including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Support, to create, plan, and sustain the Aptys product roadmap.

• Clearly communicates goals, roles, responsibilities, and expected outcomes across the organization.

• Develops and maintains a rolling twelve-month release plan, managing feature delivery from discovery through validation in production to the product's end of life.

• Supports the Chief Technology Officer in strategic planning and budgeting activities.

• Analyzes industry trends, competitor activity, client needs, and existing products to derive business requirements.

• Translates product concepts into well-defined business requirements, functional specifications, and prototypes.

• Addresses product-related inquiries from Development, Customer Support, Sales, and Marketing.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10-15 years of leadership experience in product management within the financial services sector.

• Demonstrates effective leadership abilities including setting deadlines for the Product Management team, assigning responsibilities, directing tasks, monitoring progress, and conducting follow-ups.

• Quick learner with creative thinking capabilities.

• Detail-oriented individual with strong business and technical insight, able to swiftly assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies.

• Proven leader with the ability to conceptualize solutions and deliver features from inception to end of life.

• Exceptional quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in executive-level presentations.

• Capable of adapting to rapidly changing priorities, resolving issues, and making informed decisions.

• Experienced in prototyping, writing functional and business requirements, with a deep understanding of the Agile development process.

• Values collaboration and actively seeks opportunities to build relationships.

• Displays a strong passion for crafting high-quality user experiences and a commitment to product excellence.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

• Holds an undergraduate degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Information Systems, or in a business discipline like Accounting or Finance, or possesses equivalent work experience.
