VP of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise a team of 10 engineers responsible for developing and maintaining the IMPaCT software application.

• Act as the main on-shore production engineer.

• Assist in diagnosing bug fixes in the production environment and support the DevOps and Customer Enablement teams in resolving issues related to customer data, SSO, or sFTP.

• Direct the design and architecture of all new solutions.

• Establish, implement, and review design principles and coding standards to ensure robustness and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Collaborate closely with the Product team to convert business requirements into a technical roadmap.

• Propel project progress using JIRA and take responsibility for engineering velocity and the quality of documentation.

• Guarantee the delivery of high-quality software while maintaining and enhancing the tools that test, monitor, and scale our systems.

• Lead a small team of security and IT professionals to uphold IMPaCT’s strong security posture.

• Oversee the execution of our EHR interoperability initiatives.

• Ensure that the technology budget aligns with business needs through effective prioritization and optimization.

• Manage vendor relationships to maximize value and minimize unnecessary expenditures.

• Shape the technology strategy (including AI adoption) while balancing innovation with fiscal responsibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering leadership within the healthcare sector, ideally in a startup environment.

• Proficiency with our technology stack: AWS-hosted microservice architecture, Java/Springboot, React, PostgreSQL.

• Experience in implementing integrations between health systems and EHRs.

• Background in building and supporting cloud-hosted, microservice architectures.

• A security-focused mindset regarding application development and cloud infrastructure.

• Expertise in modern development practices such as automated testing, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, containerization, unit testing, and vulnerability scanning.

• Recent experience and comfort in functioning as an individual contributor.
