Senior Engineering Manager, Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead a group of 5–8 full-stack growth engineers, nurturing a culture of swift experimentation, accountability, and technical excellence.

• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and stakeholders to define, plan, and execute projects.

• Partner with senior technical leaders and business stakeholders to formulate a technical strategy and product roadmap.

• Establish and promote key performance indicators and technical metrics, and report progress to a wide array of stakeholders across various disciplines.

• Create pragmatic and efficient agile project plans, coordinate with partner teams, proactively identify risks, and devise risk mitigation strategies.

• Identify, articulate, and drive crucial investments aimed at enhancing quality and development efficiency (e.g., quality, testing, engineering best practices, etc.).

• Cultivate a robust engineering team through coaching, mentoring, hiring, performance management, and supporting the retention of top talent.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 7 years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in engineering management (preferably overseeing growth or consumer-facing teams).

• Extensive hands-on knowledge of modern web technology stacks, including React, Next.js, AWS, Postgres, and Kubernetes.

• Demonstrated experience leading teams utilizing agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.

• Strong background in building or optimizing headless e-commerce solutions with Shopify and headless CMS platforms.

• Comfortable managing the complete subscription lifecycle: trials, pricing experiments, payment processes, churn reduction, win-back campaigns, and upsell/cross-sell strategies.

• Exceptional communication skills and experience working with non-technical stakeholders (Marketing, Growth PMs, Executives).

• Solid experience in people management, including hiring, career development, mentoring, and performance oversight.
