• Restore API and core platform latency to target levels: achieving 1,000 requests per second at sub-two-second latency, with a goal of scaling to 10,000 requests per second.
• Decrease database load, resolve stability issues revealed by recent releases, and increase release velocity to multiple deployments weekly.
• Manage a multi-chain platform with discipline across over 100 chains: establishing predictable integration timelines, accountable squad ownership, and clear SLAs for commercial partners.
• Reconstruct the engineering management layer.
• Collaborate with existing engineering leadership to create clear accountability among squad leads, engineering managers, and platform teams.

• Make strategic hiring, performance, and structural decisions necessary to elevate the organization to meet the demands of the platform.
• Propel AI integration into engineering as a driver of productivity.
• Develop shared infrastructure for AI-assisted engineering: including code generation, automated testing, agent-based migration tools, and internal knowledge management systems.
• Transition Crystal from individual AI tool usage to organization-wide AI productivity, achieving measurable improvements in delivery throughput.
• Lower operational expenses relative to revenue through architectural enhancements, automation, and minimizing manual operational tasks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders.
• Engage directly with product, go-to-market teams, customer success, and finance to convert engineering investments into customer results and revenue.
• Clearly communicate trade-offs, risks, and progress to the executive team and board.
• Take ownership of the engineering budget, hiring strategy, and vendor selection.
• Over 10 years of engineering experience.
• More than 5 years in leadership roles within platform, data, or infrastructure organizations as VP of Engineering, Head of Engineering, or a similar position.
• Experience in leading at least one significant platform migration or large-scale rebuild, maintaining continuous customer service throughout the process.
• Hands-on experience with low-latency, high-availability distributed systems that support multi-tenant SaaS workloads at a production level.
• Practical experience in integrating AI into engineering workflows, including agent-assisted development and AI-driven automation.
• Strong instincts for product partnership; you have influenced what is developed and how it is delivered.
• Proven track record of building accountable, high-ownership engineering teams.
• Direct experience in relevant sectors such as blockchain or cryptocurrency, fintech, payments, fraud or risk platforms, regulatory technology, or large-scale data platforms.
• Opportunities for professional development.
