This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Lead and nurture the India Customer Engineering team across both enterprise and strategic accounts. Act as a player-coach by maintaining a strong individual technical contribution while empowering the team.
• Serve as the primary reference for the team on intricate customer architecture, escalations, and solution design.
• Own the regional technical strategy for discovery, demonstrations, architecture design, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), onboarding support, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), renewal support, and expansion initiatives.
• Collaborate with Account Executives to drive technical validation and assist in securing new business opportunities.
• Ensure balanced workloads, support the onboarding of new team members, and set the team up for success.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide constructive feedback, and coach team members on discovery, solution architecture, executive communication, and translating business value.
• Establish and manage the operational cadence for pipeline inspection, technical deal support, adoption reviews, and account expansion planning.
• Recruit, retain, and develop top Customer Engineering talent; create succession plans and enhance bench strength.
• Facilitate coordination across teams, including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support, to swiftly resolve issues and keep customers progressing.
• Gather regional feedback, identify product gaps, and provide competitive insights to product and engineering. Represent Cloudflare in executive customer meetings, regional events, and partner discussions.
• Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing people, including second-line leadership, hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Experience working with enterprise customers in India or the APAC region.
• Strong technical knowledge across security, networking, cloud infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and developer platforms.
• Established commercial mindset with experience in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned functions. Strong executive presence and capability to connect technical depth with business outcomes. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, AI-driven operational environment.
