VP of Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Direct all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and cash management.

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures.

• Prepare and assess financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

• Create, document, and sustain internal controls and accounting policies.

• Manage annual audits while collaborating with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts alongside the Finance team.

• Supervise treasury functions and cash flow reporting processes.

• Guarantee adherence to federal, state, and local reporting obligations.

• Analyze and implement process enhancements, automation projects, and upgrades to accounting systems.

• Cultivate and develop the accounting team as the organization expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in accounting.

• At least 5 years in a leadership position within accounting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• CPA designation is highly preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Experience in managing audits and external accounting partnerships.

• Proven track record in enhancing and improving accounting processes and controls.

• Strong experience with ERP and financial systems.
