This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Cloud Infrastructure Leadership - Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of the organization’s cloud infrastructure, primarily focusing on AWS and GCP to fulfill present and future business needs.
• Strategy Development - Formulate and execute a cloud strategy that promotes scalability, cost-effectiveness, and business continuity while aligning with supporting capabilities (monitoring, alerting, tooling), corporate objectives, and Technology/Product roadmaps. Collaborate with Senior Leadership and key stakeholders to synchronize the infrastructure strategy with overarching business goals and create a strategic roadmap that ensures Infrastructure Operations aligns with business objectives.
• Leadership - Guide and mentor teams of DevOps/SRE/Infrastructure Engineers, emphasizing continuous professional growth and high performance.
• Operational Excellence - Collect and document operational requirements focused on contractual compliance, business needs, and industry best practices. Utilize these requirements to design suitable monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices. Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance team efficiency. Ensure 24/7/365 operational stability and performance of infrastructure, meeting or exceeding business needs. Supervise capacity planning, change management, and performance tuning to optimize operations while ensuring scalability, high availability, and readiness for disaster recovery across all infrastructure components.
• Security and Compliance - Work closely with the security team to ensure that infrastructure adheres to and aligns with necessary frameworks, policies, procedures, and evidence gathering requirements (including ISO 27001, ISO 27701, Cyber Essentials). Manage the effective operation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans in collaboration with the Security team, ensuring regular testing and continuous improvement.
• Collaboration - Collaborate with Development, Product, Security, and Business teams to ensure that business requirements are comprehended, met, and reported on, facilitating the smooth delivery of infrastructure services across the organization.
• Vendor Management - Oversee key vendor relationships with cloud service providers and other third-party vendors. Conduct horizon scanning for new products and features that can be leveraged to enhance infrastructure investment returns.
• Budget Management - Contribute to the creation, management, and reporting of the infrastructure operations budget, forecasting needs based on business requirements.
• You possess extensive experience in senior leadership roles within IT infrastructure, specifically focusing on cloud services.
• You have substantial experience managing multiple cloud operations teams across various technologies, geographies, and requirements.
• You are an enthusiastic “horizon scanner,” keeping abreast of industry knowledge, techniques, and potential tools to strengthen your expertise in the field.
• You demonstrate expertise in AWS services (such as EC2, S3, RDS) and GCP services (including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage).
• You exhibit a proven leadership capability in DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform).
• You possess a robust understanding and a history of excelling in Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting processes and tools.
• You are highly organized and able to focus on intricate details while maintaining a comprehensive overview.
• You are an effective communicator, comfortable engaging with individuals at all organizational levels and leading discussions around recommendations for enhancements.
• You take a collaborative approach to your work, ensuring all parties are informed and understand your processes and methodologies.
• You are a self-motivated learner with a curious mindset.
• You are resourceful and solution-oriented, considering practical implications for all involved parties.
• You are a natural problem solver with strong analytical capabilities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and/or equivalent preferred qualifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
