This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a sizable team of highly skilled certified coders, guiding them into the auditor and complex case roles that AI-driven coding necessitates.
• Collaborate with enterprise clients as their coding-quality consultant, optimizing their coding processes and translating compliance objectives into tangible improvements in accuracy and audit preparedness.
• Take ownership of coding accuracy, PDGM and hospice coding integrity, OASIS-coding alignment, and audit readiness throughout the agency network.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to enhance coding precision and workflows, incorporating the coder's insights on AI draft processes, human review, and routing of edge cases.
• Advance our quality and review systems, effectively closing feedback loops that convert coder corrections into quantifiable enhancements in the model.
• Establish and communicate coding KPIs (accuracy, turnaround, productivity) for both internal teams and external reviews.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CMS guidelines and each ICD-10-CM update cycle, translating regulatory changes into workflow rules and model behaviors.
• Act as the coding subject-matter expert for clients, clinical leadership, and internal teams.
• Minimum of 7 years in medical coding, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management position; experience in home health and/or hospice is essential.
• Current credentials: HCS-D, HCS-H, BCHH-C, CCS, CPC, COC, or CDIP.
• Extensive knowledge in PDGM and hospice coding, along with a comprehensive understanding of the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines and OASIS coding implications.
• Proven experience in leading large coding teams and developing or managing coding quality programs that significantly enhance accuracy at scale.
• Background in working with or advising enterprise clients, possessing the credibility and communication abilities to earn the trust of senior leaders in large organizations.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, coupled with a genuine passion for transforming coding via AI rather than preserving traditional methods.
