This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead financial strategy across LEE, LEE Foundation, and PAC entities
• Collaborate with senior leaders to establish long-term financial strategies and objectives
• Provide guidance to the Executive Director and Leadership Team through scenario planning and financial insights
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, materials, and recommendations for the Board
• Develop and oversee resource allocation, forecasts, and expenditures
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, consolidation, intercompany activities, and cost allocations
• Enhance, document, and monitor internal controls and segregation of duties
• Convert political activity compliance requirements into accounting structures and practices
• Monitor 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) revenues and expenses and document inter-entity transfers
• Manage external relationships and coordinate audit processes
• Lead organizational and team-centric budgeting
• Transform FP&A into a forward-thinking strategic function
• Own forecasting models and develop multi-year forecasts and scenario plans
• Deliver financial analyses, reports, recommendations, dashboards, and risk management insights
• Create treasury management strategies, banking relationships, cash management, and reserve investment recommendations
• Lead, mentor, and develop a two-person finance team
• Evaluate team structure and capabilities, shaping roles for current and future needs
• Engage directly in day-to-day accounting while providing mentorship to the team
• Lead or contribute to special projects
• Oversee integrations and automation across Sage Intacct, ADP, Ramp, and Paystand
• Assess and implement FP&A and reporting tools, including leveraging automation and AI where beneficial
• Advocate for scalable, technology-enabled financial controls and security
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
• If lacking a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of pertinent experience is necessary
• If possessing an Associate’s degree, an extra 2 years of relevant experience is required
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
• Experience in senior finance leadership roles such as CFO, VP or Director of Finance, or Controller, with substantial accounting responsibilities in an organization with a budget of at least $15M
• Extensive hands-on accounting expertise, including oversight of the close process, financial reporting, audits, and nonprofit accounting
• Experience managing accounting for an organization with two or more legal entities, including consolidation, intercompany activities, and cost allocation
• Proven track record of enhancing internal controls and segregation of duties while addressing control gaps or audit findings
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and financial analysis for senior leadership
• Experience leading the implementation or integration of a cloud ERP or core financial system, including change management
• Strong people management skills with a player-coach approach

• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial leaders
• Capacity to collaborate successfully within a geographically dispersed team

• CPA preferred; MBA is a plus
• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct, particularly in a multi-entity environment with integrations
• Experience with 501(c)(3)/501(c)(4) or political action committee accounting
• Experience leading FP&A, including selecting or implementing FP&A or reporting tools
• Familiarity with treasury management and reserve investment strategies
• Experience leveraging AI-enabled analytics and reporting tools
• Experience managing a remote team
• Willingness to travel approximately 10–15%
• Availability for occasional evenings and/or weekends
