VP Engineering, Ongoing Monitoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Establish the engineering strategy for Tide's platforms focused on fraud, financial crime, and ongoing monitoring.

• Oversee engineering efforts spanning backend, frontend, data science, ML engineering, and analytics engineering, with the primary base in Hyderabad and product leadership shared between Hyderabad and London.

• Lead managers and senior engineers, fostering a strong leadership team beneath you.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across risk, operations, business, design, product, and engineering.

• Take ownership of the Decision Engine and Decision Intelligence Platform, integrating domestic and international payment flows.

• Manage the model lifecycle from development to backtesting, shadow deployment, staged rollout, and production performance monitoring.

• Scale agentic AI within regulated workflows while maintaining Tide's agentic governance framework.

• Achieve lower fraud losses, enhance automated alert throughput, and decrease ongoing monitoring costs per member.

• Establish an operating model that links first line operations, second line risk and compliance, payments and acquiring engineering, KYX, AI Platforms, and data science leadership.

• Utilize principles to create a solution once, deploy it globally, and separate market-specific logic.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading engineering organizations within fraud, financial crime, risk, or similar real-time decision-making domains.

• A strong history of translating platform investments into measurable results in fraud detection and mitigation, reduction in unit economics, and automation of workflows.

• Experience in scaling machine learning from development to production and maintaining model performance post-launch, with rapid iterations in model development.

• Familiarity with operating in regulated environments, collaborating with second line risk and compliance functions, and engaging with regulators.

• Strong judgment regarding organizational design, delivery, platform strategy, data architecture, and technical quality.

• Capability to lead distributed teams across various markets and unify multiple functions under a single roadmap, operating model, and set of priorities.

• Experience in deploying AI or agentic systems within regulated workflows, with an emphasis on governance, evaluation, and human oversight is a plus.
