📋 Description

• Define and spearhead the enterprise engineering strategy across compounding, pharmacy, and fulfillment operations.

• Develop engineering standards and scalable operating models that can be replicated at various locations.

• Design comprehensive workflows and technical systems that integrate production, dispensing, packaging, storage, and delivery processes.

• Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, facilities, automation, manufacturing, and industrial engineering fields.

• Oversee the design, expansion, commissioning, and ongoing support of regulated manufacturing and pharmacy facilities, including cleanrooms and controlled environments.

• Ensure facility designs effectively accommodate personnel flow, material flow, airflow, HVAC, electrical systems, process utilities, equipment placement, maintainability, and future capacity needs.

• Manage and enhance large-scale capital investment planning, including facility constructions, automation, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure programs exceeding $100M.

• Offer technical oversight to architects, engineering firms, contractors, equipment vendors, and external subject-matter experts; ask pertinent questions, challenge assumptions, and monitor performance against technical and regulatory standards.

• Establish clear governance, reporting, risk management, and execution rigor for capital projects.

• Collaborate closely with Quality, Pharmacy, and Operations to ensure that engineering designs and systems comply with relevant cGMP, FDA, Board of Pharmacy, and USP requirements.

• Transform regulatory and quality-system requirements into practical, scalable engineering standards and operational systems.

• Embed inspection readiness within facility, equipment, maintenance, utility, and change-control processes.

• Foster a strong quality culture while balancing compliance, speed, operational performance, and business growth.

• Enhance throughput, accuracy, reliability, capacity, and cost through system design, automation, engineering advancements, and data-driven decision-making.

• Develop enterprise strategies for preventive and predictive maintenance, asset lifecycle management, spare-parts strategy, and equipment reliability.

• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement methodologies as supportive tools instead of the primary focus of the engineering function.

• Identify and bridge critical gaps in systems, workflows, infrastructure, and performance visibility.

• Build and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering and facilities organization across a multi-site network.

• Cultivate leaders, establish clear accountability, and enhance technical capabilities within regulated environments.

• Create organizational structures, succession plans, operating rhythms, and decision-making frameworks that foster rapid growth.

• Act as a key thought partner to senior leaders across Operations, Quality, Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Technology, Facilities, and Finance.

• Lead through uncertainty and transformation while maintaining pace, alignment, and disciplined execution.

• 12+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience in facilities engineering, manufacturing engineering, technical services, operations engineering, or a related field.

• Demonstrated success in building and scaling engineering organizations and leading senior technical and personnel leaders across multiple locations.

• Strong background in facilities and infrastructure, including cleanrooms or similarly controlled environments, HVAC, electrical systems, utilities, equipment installation, and facility expansion.

• Expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or comparable multidisciplinary technical fields; ability to effectively lead and challenge specialists in these areas.

• Proven management of large-scale capital programs, including facility constructions, automation, equipment, and infrastructure investments.

• Foundational knowledge of GMP, USP, quality systems, validation, change control, and inspection-ready operations for effective collaboration with Quality and regulated operations teams.

• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, biotechnology, 503A/503B compounding, semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, electronics, or another high-precision and highly controlled manufacturing sector.

• Experience supervising external engineering firms, contractors, architects, and equipment vendors on complex technical projects.

• Proven track record of enhancing reliability, throughput, quality, capacity, and cost through engineering and system-level improvements.

• Strong executive communication, cross-functional influence, and the ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
