VP, Data Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the enterprise data architecture blueprint encompassing operational, analytical, and distribution layers.

• Develop stewardship, cataloging, lineage, and quality frameworks in collaboration with business and technology teams.

• Implement governance across the processes of ingestion, transformation, and distribution.

• Convert business metrics into reliable, governed data sources.

• Design and scale Osaic’s enterprise data ecosystem.

• Manage data ingestion pipelines from PershingX, NFS, Fidelity, and Schwab.

• Facilitate secure and efficient data distribution via APIs and data-as-a-service models.

• Guarantee performance, scalability, and cost optimization throughout the data ecosystem.

• Create data observability, monitoring, and lineage protocols.

• Define and uphold data ownership, classification, retention, and access policies.

• Ensure adherence to FINRA, SEC, Reg BI, and data privacy regulations.

• Deliver accurate, reconciled data throughout the advisor and client lifecycle.

• Assist with compensation calculations, revenue reporting, advisor hierarchy, and enterprise AUA transparency.

• Provide insights at the advisor and practice level to support retention, growth, and recruiting efforts.

• Influence cross-functional teams within a matrixed structure and mentor domain stewards.

• Engage in Data Governance Council and Architecture Review Board meetings.

• Establish standards, playbooks, and reference architectures.

• Lead a Data Architecture Community of Practice.

• Publish data quality and observability scorecards and drive corrective actions.

• Promote accountability and stewardship across the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent in computer science or a related field, or relevant industry experience may also be considered.

• Over 15 years of experience leading enterprise data programs that support multi-clearing broker-dealer ecosystems.

• Minimum of 5 years at the VP/SVP level.

• Extensive knowledge of IBD/RIA ecosystems, custodians, and advisor data flows.

• Proven track record with custodian data models, including those from Pershing, NFS, Fidelity, and Schwab.

• Expertise in architecting and managing enterprise-scale data ecosystems.

• Experience with various transactional data stores, operational data stores, and cloud-based data warehouses that accommodate both structured and unstructured data.

• Practical experience with Snowflake and similar cloud data technologies such as Redshift, BigQuery, and Databricks.

• Strong background in data ingestion pipelines, APIs, and frameworks for secure data distribution.

• Demonstrated understanding of AUA, revenue, compensation, and payout metrics.

• Hands-on leadership in data governance, lineage, cataloging, and data quality frameworks.

• Capacity to influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

• Exceptional communication skills that bridge the business, technology, and compliance domains.
