This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and sustain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Construct and enhance data models, warehouses, and data lakes for analytical and operational applications.
• Create batch and real-time data processing solutions utilizing contemporary cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data services into applications aimed at customers.
• Ensure the quality, integrity, governance, and observability of data across various platforms.
• Optimize the performance, storage, and query efficiency of databases.
• Implement automated testing, monitoring, and deployment pipelines for data infrastructure.
• Interpret business requirements from product teams and client stakeholders into technical solutions.
• Resolve production issues and enhance system reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and uphold engineering best practices.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
• Over 3 years of professional experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and data platforms.
• Proficiency in developing ETL/ELT processes using Python, SQL, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong SQL capabilities and experience in optimizing complex queries.
• Background in data modeling and schema design.
• Understanding of distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
• Proficient in using Git and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS data services such as Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Lambda, S3, and Lake Formation.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Apache Airflow or Dagster.
• Preferred: Experience with Kafka or Kinesis.
• Preferred: Knowledge of data warehouses and lakehouse architectures.
• Preferred: Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Preferred: Experience with federal government programs.
• Preferred: Background in digital services or consulting.
• Preferred: Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.
