This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with leadership, engineers, underwriters, and actuaries to ascertain data needs.

• Design, develop, and implement a scalable modern data stack that supports applications, reporting, and business goals.

• Create conceptual and logical data models that facilitate business workflows, application functionalities, and reporting requirements.

• Architect data structures for pipelines that transfer data across various platforms.

• Establish a data governance framework to ensure data integrity and a well-structured flow of information.

• Outline security and backup protocols.

• Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

• Foster a data-driven culture throughout the organization.

• Enhance technology and best practices in collaboration with the Director of Data and Analytics Engineering.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering, specifically in designing and managing intricate data systems.

• Proficiency in facilitating and gathering business requirements while developing scalable engineering solutions.

• Strong expertise in Python programming.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.

• Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems.

• Knowledge of data modeling, ELT processes, and data warehousing techniques.

• Understanding of data security and regulations concerning user data privacy.

• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with cloud data solutions like Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

• Previous experience in a startup environment is a plus.

• Familiarity with Terraform, data governance and security best practices, dbt, Fivetran, HevoData, Airflow, challenges in the insurance domain, LLM applications, time series forecasting, NLP, predictive modeling, data analytics, statistics, and data science concepts are desirable.

• A degree in a science or engineering field is considered a plus.
