📋 Description

• Define and oversee Tempo’s comprehensive AI strategy in alignment with business objectives and the product roadmap.

• Identify impactful use cases related to planning, forecasting, resource management, and productivity.

• Convert emerging AI capabilities into clear product and platform opportunities.

• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership regarding AI investments and priorities.

• Collaborate closely with Product leadership to define and implement the AI roadmap across Tempo’s product offerings.

• Lead the development of intelligent features such as predictive insights, recommendations, and automation.

• Create a scalable AI platform layer that accommodates multiple products and use cases.

• Ensure that AI capabilities are practical, user-friendly, and provide measurable customer value.

• Build and lead a high-performing team encompassing GenAI, Agents, machine learning, data science, and applied AI engineering.

• Establish the operating model, hiring strategy, and capability roadmap for AI at Tempo.

• Encourage strong collaboration among Product, Engineering, Design, and Data teams.

• Enhance AI literacy throughout the organization.

• Partner with Data and Platform teams to secure solid foundations for AI development.

• Drive strategies for data quality, governance, and model lifecycle management.

• Ensure the AI infrastructure is scalable, secure, and cost-effective.

• Establish best practices for the ethical, secure, and compliant application of AI.

• Maintain customer trust through transparency, privacy, and responsible model usage.

• Stay updated on regulatory and industry advancements related to AI.

• Represent Tempo as a leader in AI within the Atlassian ecosystem and the broader SaaS landscape.

• Engage with customers, partners, and industry communities.

• Provide external insights on trends, tools, and the competitive landscape.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience in implementing GenAI and ML in software solutions.

• Proven leadership experience in building and scaling AI or data-driven product capabilities.

• Track record of delivering AI-powered features in SaaS or enterprise applications.

• Experience operating at a senior leadership level.

• Strong understanding of contemporary AI/ML methodologies, including LLMs and applied AI systems.

• Ability to connect technical depth with product strategy and business outcomes.

• Experience with data platforms, experimentation, and large-scale model deployment.

• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across Product, Engineering, and GTM teams.

• Experience in building teams and attracting top AI talent.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and provide clarity at scale.

• Customer-focused approach to AI, emphasizing real value rather than hype.
