Voice Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create US English voices for live debt-collection calls

• Determine the delivery of required compliance language to ensure it is perceived as informative rather than intimidating

• Make decisions regarding accent, pacing, stress, and pauses, while justifying voice selections to clients

• Edit voice configurations in the repository, execute the pipeline, listen to outputs, make necessary adjustments, and submit pull requests

• Clearly identify and communicate any limitations of the tooling

• Locate and guide voice actors during recording sessions

• Cut, clean, and prepare recorded takes for use in the pipeline

• Establish evidence-based criteria for voice quality, which includes naturalness, intelligibility over poor phone lines, and consistency during twelve-minute calls

• Incorporate voice quality evaluation criteria into the release-gating evaluation suite

• Collaborate within small client teams, review work, and document decisions

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience in sound-related fields such as sound design, audio post-production, music production, game audio, or interface audio

• Capability to independently record and edit speech

• Ability to direct voice actors and salvage audio from suboptimal recording environments

• Strong auditory skills in American English, with the ability to assess accent, delivery, and appropriateness for collections calls

• Proficiency in working with terminal commands, scripts, configuration files, git, and AI coding tools

• A portfolio or audio samples available for review

• Availability that overlaps with US afternoons, including some evenings in IST

• Experience with TTS or voice cloning is a plus

• Familiarity with SSML, prosody controls, ElevenLabs, or similar tools is beneficial

• Understanding of 8 kHz narrowband audio is advantageous

• Experience in healthcare, financial services, or crisis-line audio is a plus

• Interest in expanding to another locale is a bonus
