VMware System Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee VMware vSphere environments (including vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN).

• Establish and maintain Site Recovery Manager (SRM / Live Recovery Manager) along with disaster recovery strategies.

• Design and manage Stretched / Metro Cluster architectures.

• Configure and oversee VMware NSX‑T for networking and security purposes.

• Engineer solutions for high availability, recoverability, scalability, and lifecycle management.

• Conduct monitoring, capacity planning, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis.

• Automate operational tasks and processes within the VMware environment.

• Support and execute complex data center and hybrid infrastructure initiatives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in adherence to Agile methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with VMware technologies, Operations Manager, NSX-T, and Live Recovery Manager (SRM).

• Strong proficiency in Layer 2 and 3 physical and virtual networking.

• Experience with CISCO and Dell Switches is a plus.

• Demonstrated experience in designing secure VMware Virtualization environments.

• Proven understanding of architectural principles across various infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration, and application layers.

• Strong grasp of Microsoft technologies, including Domains, Active Directory, and the interplay between hardware, operating systems, networks, data centers, and application software.

• Significant experience in identifying and delivering technical solutions to automate processes or functions for enhancing VMware operations.

• Knowledge of systems monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning as it relates to VMware infrastructure.

• VMware VCP or VCAP certifications, along with CCNA and CCNP certifications, are advantageous.
