Senior Product Designer – Design Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and steer the design system roadmap.

• Define and enhance the system's user experience, including components, patterns, interaction states, responsive behaviors, motion, and accessibility standards.

• Lead the token strategy from start to finish, encompassing both primitive and semantic aspects.

• Establish robust governance and manage the lifecycle effectively.

• Develop implementation-aware specifications.

• Facilitate design enablement within context.

• Intentionally utilize AI tools to optimize audits.

• Measure adoption and impact while identifying workflow friction points.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in product design or a related field.

• A portfolio that demonstrates mastery of design systems, including components, patterns, tokens, and governance.

• Technical proficiency in collaborating within component-based workflows, such as Figma component libraries and Storybook.

• Practical experience with token pipelines and related tools, including CSS variables and semantic token architectures.

• Proven expertise in accessibility as applied to systems, following standards such as WCAG 2.1 AA.

• Demonstrated application of AI and automation to enhance the speed and quality of design system delivery.

• Experience in promoting system adoption through metrics, deprecation/migration programs, and cross-functional enablement initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
