Visiting Professor of Healthcare Cybersecurity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develops and delivers an approved DeVry University syllabus that adheres to a template set by the local campus and includes the terminal course objectives.

• Organizes, prepares, and consistently revises and updates all course materials.

• Utilizes appropriate technological tools for online education and course-related software, such as websites, email, and online discussions, to prepare the course and ensure accessibility for students.

• Exemplifies effective oral and written communication that engages students, provides clarity, and enhances their learning experience.

• Establishes clear expectations for the course by publishing terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and the weight distribution of various evaluation categories.

• Ensures that the content and complexity of exam materials align with the course terminal objectives.

• Displays consistency and fairness in preparing and grading exams, and provides timely feedback to students.

• Embraces and incorporates the responsible use of AI technologies in the classroom to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

• Demonstrates the capability to recognize, evaluate, and address appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools in academic settings.

• Performs other duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in cybersecurity, health informatics, or a healthcare-related field.

• All degrees must be obtained from a regionally accredited institution or an equivalent entity.

• Current certification in one of the following is required: CHPS, HCISPP, or CISSP-HC.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in securing healthcare IT systems, including EHR platforms, medical devices, and clinical networks.

• Proven expertise in HIPAA or HITECH security implementation, risk assessments, and breach response.

• Familiarity with healthcare operations, insurance processes, and privacy regulations.

• Experience with security tools utilized in healthcare environments (SIEM, DLP, encryption technologies).

• This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.

• Faculty members must be committed to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.
