IT Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Serve as the main point of contact with the managed detection and response vendor to evaluate and address security findings.

• Collaborate with Office365/Azure administrators to establish security protocols.

• Work alongside the IT Infrastructure team to develop and assess Standard Operating Procedures.

• Review technical reports, benchmarks, and standards, providing actionable insights.

• Utilize firewalls and advanced threat protection systems to track activities and identify potential threats.

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly oversight of security systems.

• Execute risk assessments for new software applications and services.

• Evaluate third-party security controls and suggest appropriate responses.

• Drive improvements in processes and procedures.

• Engage in assigned projects.

• Be on-call as necessary.

• Carry out additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology is required.

• A degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.

• At least 3 years of experience as a system administrator, network/server engineer, or in a similar role is preferred.

• Experience in the healthcare sector and knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred.

• Technical certification, particularly in Information Security, is preferred.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, group policy, Microsoft server administration, and Office 365/Azure administration is preferred.

• Must be available for on-call responsibilities.
