Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage virtualization platforms based on VMware technology.

• Design, implement, and manage software-defined networking solutions.

• Design, implement, and manage software-defined storage solutions.

• Provide support for on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.

• Work with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu technologies.

• Automate the operations of the platform.

• Oversee capacity management.

• Manage a substantial VMware infrastructure in conjunction with modern cloud-native applications.

• Diagnose issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Implement enterprise-scale VMware platform engineering and operational discipline.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required.

• At least five years of practical VMware platform engineering experience.

• In-depth knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking solutions.

• Proficient in PowerCLI scripting and automation tools.

• Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container solutions.

• Strong grasp of disaster recovery strategies and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is preferred.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration initiatives from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms is preferred.
