Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage virtualization platforms based on VMware technology.

• Create, implement, and oversee software-defined networking solutions.

• Develop, implement, and manage software-defined storage systems.

• Provide support for on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Collaborate with technologies such as vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu.

• Automate operational tasks and oversee capacity management.

• Operate VMware platforms at an enterprise level.

• Facilitate support for modern cloud-native applications.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Implement strong automation practices and operational discipline.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

• At least five years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and management of storage policies.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking technologies.

• Proficient in PowerCLI scripting and automation tools.

• Understanding of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container solutions.

• Solid grasp of disaster recovery strategies and Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across compute, network, and storage domains.

• Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is advantageous.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is a plus.

• Exposure to migration initiatives from VMware to other virtualization platforms is beneficial.
