This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
• Join Atrium Health as a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician on the Virtual Weight Management team.
• The physician delivers comprehensive, evidence-based care for obesity and metabolic health via a fully virtual platform.
• Conducts thorough medical histories, virtual assessments, and clinical evaluations for obesity and metabolic disorders.
• Creates individualized weight-management treatment plans utilizing evidence-based strategies.
• Provides continuous virtual longitudinal care, routine follow-ups, and chronic disease management associated with obesity and metabolic health.
• Orders and interprets necessary diagnostic tests for obesity care and metabolic monitoring.
• Completes all documentation promptly, accurately, and in a clinically appropriate manner.
• Ensures adherence to Atrium Health's virtual-care guidelines, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Acts as an advocate and educator for patients, offering supportive counseling, motivation, and shared decision-making.
• Provides empathetic, culturally sensitive care to a diverse adult demographic.
• Actively engages in quality improvement initiatives and outcomes-driven program development.
• MD or DO degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completion of an accredited residency program.
• Board Certification in Obesity/Weight Management is mandatory.
• Maintenance of Certification required in accordance with applicable board standards.
• Experience in virtual care is preferred; proficiency in obesity pharmacotherapy is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for adults aged 18 years and older.
• Must be willing to act as a collaborating physician for up to 7 APPs.
• Although the position is remote, the Physician must reside in one of the following states: NC, SC, GA, or AL.
