This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +6 more states.
• Conducts virtual assessments of risk control and self-surveys to identify potential hazards and risk factors related to underwriting and risk selection.
• Produces technically comprehensive reports that deliver a clear evaluation of risk while articulating recommendations effectively.
• Advises clients on strategies to manage hazards to mitigate or avert losses.
• Persuades clients to adopt recommended actions.
• Illustrates how their suggestions or department value-added programs can assist in reducing risks.
• Offers technical guidance and account information to underwriting business partners, insureds, and other clients for analysis, ensuring exceptional customer service.
• Utilizes automated workflows to assess responses to recommendations provided by insureds and agents.
• Directs incomplete recommendations to underwriting team members.
• Identifies opportunities to offer risk control products and services that can aid in loss reduction.
• Organizes and schedules risk control evaluations with insureds and investigates risks through internal and external resources to complete evaluations.
• A bachelor’s degree in risk management, safety/health, or a related field.
• Internship or cooperative experience in risk/loss control, risk management, occupational safety, fire protection, or a related field – OR – 2 years of experience in commercial lines.
• A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• A minimum of 2 years in risk control with a multi-line commercial insurance background is highly preferred.
• Ongoing education in a related field and/or completion of insurance coursework is highly desirable.
