Risk Management Technician – BES

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Monitor activities related to Assessment & Authorization (A&A) for a federal client to guarantee that designated information systems, devices, and networks can secure and sustain Authorization to Operate (ATO) and other determinations.

• Collaborate as part of a team to plan and execute evaluations of information systems and networks to pinpoint vulnerabilities, risks, and security requirements in alignment with the VA A&A process.

• Deliver weekly status reports and assist in managing eMASS packages.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or possess authorization to work in the United States.

• Must reside in the U.S. and have maintained a permanent residence in the U.S. for a minimum of the last 3 consecutive years (36 months).

• Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may be required to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.

• Knowledgeable in Information Assurance (IA) controls analysis, testing, and risk assessments.

• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and assessment tools essential for identifying and documenting compliance.

• Highly self-motivated and capable of managing multi-discipline triage calls.

• Proven experience in documenting and clearly communicating workarounds and solutions.

• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks at a high level.

• Understanding of NIST SP 800-53 and 800-37, CNSSI 1254, and other VA Risk Management policies.

• Knowledge of defense-in-depth strategies and other information security and assurance principles, along with related supporting technologies.

• Effective communication skills with managers and clients.

• Experience working within the Software Development Lifecycle in a team-oriented, collaborative, agile environment.

• Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, GitHub, and Jira.

• High school diploma or GED required.
