This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Facilitate the integration of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Anticipatory Action (AA) across all RAPID program activities, offering technical guidance that aligns with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) program quality standards, donor expectations, and industry best practices.
• Assist in the execution of agency-wide strategies, standards, tools, and best practices related to DRR/AA in humanitarian responses, effectively engaging partners, donors, and governments. Ensure a comprehensive approach that includes gender considerations, inclusion, protection mainstreaming, and disaster risk reduction.
• Deliver technical solutions to regional and County Program teams, both remotely and on-site, for strategic planning and optimal application of program design and implementation standards, best practices, partnership principles, tools, and M&E, guaranteeing high-quality execution.
• Aid in the creation of the technical design for proposals. Support the preparation, design, submission, and approval processes for project concepts and comprehensive proposals. Act as a technical writer on proposal development teams as required, and advise project teams on incorporating donor strategies, priorities, and technical requirements into CRS’ approach.
• Support capacity-building initiatives in DRR/AA programming for staff and partners by developing learning and training strategies and curricula, conducting training sessions and workshops, and providing coaching.
• Gather and analyze program data, document and share lessons learned and best practices from specific projects to enhance decision-making and contribute to the DRR/AA learning agenda.
• Help maintain relationships with donors, peer organizations, research institutions, and other entities, and participate in DRR/AA forums to gather and disseminate best practices while promoting CRS’ initiatives.
• A Bachelor’s degree in fields related to DRR/R such as Disaster Management, Environmental Management, Climate Risk Management, preparedness, or humanitarian aid is mandatory.
• A minimum of five to eight years of relevant work experience with increasing responsibilities, preferably within an international NGO, including at least two years of field-based experience in DRR/AA.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), web conferencing tools, information and budget management systems, and knowledge-sharing networks.
• Familiarity with technical principles and concepts in DRR/AA, as well as a general understanding of related disciplines to ensure a proper cross-sectoral approach.
• Experience in project design and proposal development, including content writing for proposals.
• Knowledge of best practices for capacity strengthening.
• Experience with program monitoring, evaluation, and analysis.
• Proven skills in networking and building relationships with donors, peer organizations, and faith-based civil society partners, along with an understanding of partnership principles.
• Strong relationship management abilities, capable of influencing and securing buy-in from individuals not under direct supervision and working effectively with diverse geographical and cultural groups.
• Excellent strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and systems thinking skills, with the ability to see the overarching picture and make sound judgments.
• Competent technical writing skills.
• Capable of presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching.
